Pleasantly cool temperatures (21°C), clear skies, a slight breeze that showed little favour, and humane traffic awaited the two riders who make the trek to the Union Hall at the corner of Wolf Grover Road and Tatlock Road this evening for the Almonte Tuesday time trial.
Riders upped their involvement game by in addition to their riding, managing their starts, and following the well labeled course governed by the team of silent sibling marshals: the signage twins, and the pylon triplets. Tom Kemp oversaw the starts, finishes, timing and results, which are: Celia McInnis in 29:18 (displaying sparkling form together with amassing a tad lengthy warm-up ride of 100 Km upon arriving to the start line), preceded by: Tom Kemp in 25:54 (after humbly arriving to the start line following a bare bones minimum warm-up ride of 3+ Kms).
The September Game On Almonte mini Time Trial series continues next Tuesday at the Union Hall for what is likely the final can kicking TT of the season (although never say never). Riders are asked to let Tom Kemp know ahead of time of their interest in participating. On site registration and signing in is from 5:45 to 6:00 PM. The first rider will head out about 6:12ish. Volunteers, riders, and cheer leaders are always welcomed! Please arrange to have a car ride back home, or sufficient lights and reflective clothing for after the time trial, as the early sunsets are now pretty much precluding riding home in daylight.
