South winds are always the toughest on this course, since they hit on the open, uphill section towards the overpass, but somehow all but the first and last to leave tonight improved upon their previous season-series best! The fastest rider of the night was last-to-leave Suzanne Pond in 18:51. This was Suzanne's slowest 10km CFCTT of the four she has ridden this year, but her consistency has been remarkable with all four of the finishes being within 14 seconds of one another - the standard deviation of her performance ratios relative to her best speed this year is only 0.0146. Second fastest was the second last to leave, Vie Babikian with 19:07. Vie also posted the largest season-series personal improvement as well, with a huge performance ratio of 1.3225. Perhaps her excuse for doing so well was that she was well rested - Her only other time trial this year was the first one on 2012-Apr-16. Third was Celia McInnis. She left first to rush back to assist Jim Glover at the finish line - Well maybe she didn't exactly rush back - She was the most un-improved with a ratio of only 0.7762 - but at least she did manage to get back before anybody else. Anyway, of the 8 riders tonight, six set new season series bests and four improved upon their previous database bests.
