Next Tuesday (2007-Aug-28) is the WTT Invitational - Any OCA insured person, male or female, can ride as long as they do so on a team which contains a female. If you want to ride, please send an email to celia@drmath.ca indicating who will be on your team, your expected finish time and your team name. Also please let Barbara Wilson know if you wish to attend the banquet afterwards at Robbies on St. Laurent at Belfast. Finally - please bring any prizes which you have gathered for the WTT awards to Barbara by this Friday. Sixteen women were out tonight for our return to the Rockliffe Parkway. This was a high air pressure day (more than 102kPa), and there was a stiff breeze from the east, so we lost some of what we might have gained from the 11 or 12 km of new, smooth, pavement. Still, it looked as if 6 people improved upon their previous best 2007 WTT 15km time until Jackie MacDonald, our experienced turn-around volunteer, indicated that the turn-around mark was considerably closer than the old one! Several remeasurements of the course (by Bram Moerman, Jim Glover and Celia McInnis) came in at approximately 90 meters short of 15km. The good news is that everybody , except Erika (who dropped out after cutting her hand on her brake levers near the start) had database PB's at 14.91 km!
