Next week we'll be back on the Rockliffe Parkway for a 15km time trial, but tonight, 11 women arrived at Frank Kenny Road to have their last "go" at this flat, smooth course with the enticingly long sight lines. The weather was ideal for fast times, with only a hint of a breeze from the southeast, and 7 out of 11 of us had our best 2007 WTT ride at this distance. Erika Revesz was thrilled with her 16:16 - the first 40+km/h in the WTT series this year and the 29th fastest time overall (for men or women) on this course this year. Note that of these times, the only faster women were Jennifer Stephenson and Tricia Spooner, who are a couple of categories younger. Erika's time was also the first Vet C Women's time to exceed 40km/h, though Ellen, who had been very close a number of times, might have done likewise tonight had she ridden her time trial bike rather than the more comfortable machine which she'll use in her first Iron man race in a couple of weeks - Good Luck in B.C., Ellen! Meanwhile, at the lower end of the age spectrum, Cadet rider Lindsay Anderson came through with another improvement. She now holds the top 4 speeds in the CAF category. Excellent riding all!
