This site, now in its 27th season, is a labour of love and fun from one of Ottawa's most avid time trialists and number crunchers. It adheres to and is permitted by the laws of Canada, promotes the objectives of every bicycle club whose results are shown, and is donated free of charge by myself for your enjoyment and usage. If you would like results from series you ride in to be shown here, give me (celia.mcinnis@gmail.com) a shout!
NOTE that this site had to be quickly moved to a new server with a new version of Perl. Unfortunately the way of interacting with the web form has changed, so I'll have to do some reprogramming to get the buttons and search boxes working. Meanwhile the links work fine and you can always add query specifications into the URL! :-)

ABC Open TT Series - 2011-Sep-06 - 15km (Tatlock Rd) (EvtFactor= 0.9547)

Ottawa Weather (18:00): Cloudy. Temperature: 18°C, Humidity: 55%, Dew point: 9°C, Wind: NE 13km/h, Pressure: 102.2kPa, Visibility: 24km.
Ottawa Weather (19:00): Cloudy. Temperature: 17°C, Humidity: 58%, Dew point: 9°C, Wind: NE 11km/h, Pressure: 102.3kPa, Visibility: 24km.
Ottawa Weather (20:00): Cloudy. Temperature: 16°C, Humidity: 60%, Dew point: 9°C, Wind: NNE 15km/h, Pressure: 102.3kPa, Visibility: 24km.

With the highest air pressure of the season (102.2kPa in Ottawa) and the coolish temperature, this was not a night when personal bests were expected, but that didn't stop Greg Calnan (25:30 or 35.294km/h) from taking 12 seconds off of the database PB which he had set last week on 2011-Aug-30. He was the only one to improve upon his or her previous database best for this course with his 2.37% cube speed improvement. The rest of us were off by more than 10%. Before the race, Greg indicated that he was good in cool temperatures, that he was a bit of a polar bear. All right, it's not only cold up at the north pole, the air pressure tends to be high up there too, so maybe Greg was just in his element - Or maybe he is just improving in this his second season of doing time trials. Second place went to Les Humphrey (25:48 or 34.884km/h) who has ridden this course 146 times so far since it was first chosen for Almonte Time Trials back in 1993. Occasional slow times for Les on this course often have humour associated with them - a breakdown and/or repair of some makeshift piece of his equipment. Celia McInnis (26:39 or 33.771km/h) finished in third place or first in the women. She generally only rides this course in September after the OBC WTT series finishes, and her times are as inconsistent as the weather. She is a lizard, preferring 35°C or more, and she does especially badly after rainy commmutes to the course. Second Place woman Darlene Yee (30:26 or 29.573km/h) is in her first year of riding ABC time trials, and she is doing very well on this challenging course, especially considering that she doesn't even have any aero bars on her bike yet. We had fun, and will all be back for further attempts. Thanks are extended to John and Sherry Warren for running this event.
