Well at least it didn't rain during the event, but in every other regard the weather was challenging - High air pressure. cold and very windy. Still, twenty-four showed up to race, and nine of the fourteen who had ridden an earlier 2011 WTT 10km even had the nerve to improve! Karen Byskov was the most improved with a cube speed improvement of more than 15%, while Jane Morris, on time this week, bettered herself by more than 12%. At least the only riders who improved upon their previous database best were Natalie Cormier and Kyle Caie who both have the excellent excuse of being new riders this year in this series. It was also fun to see Kyle, our youngest rider, get the better of our oldest rider, who just happens to be Kyle's Grandmother, Jean Cooper. Last week, Jean was 3 seconds faster than Kyle, whereas this week, Kyle was 2 seconds faster than Jean. We can follow their progress each week here. Lastly, congratulations to the Dianne Marleau and Nicole LaViolette for managing to finish faster than the tandem team of Catherine Bridges & Ryan Gilchrist - In tonight's wind, stoker Catherine was likely especially grateful for the good draft afforded by Captain Ryan!
These results were posted on the OBC site circa 22:30 on 2011-May-10 and are available here for your added pleasure and analysis.
(Lest complaints about me just lazily sucking in the results surface, I wish to make it perfectly clear that I would gladly do the data entry, getting the results up within a few of hours of the event, as history shows that I did for the WTT series for the decade beginning in 1998, and for the OTT series from 1999-2002 and again in 2006. The OBC Board however, not only won't let me volunteer here, but strangely enough they actually expelled me from the OBC for donating this time trial web site to you !)
