OBC Open TT Series - 2011-Jul-21 - 15km (Rockliffe Pkwy) (EvtFactor= 0.8663)

Fifty two people thought that they liked the heat enough to show up for this steamy time trial (35°C with a humidex of 45°C), but there were 4 DNFs and a number of other riders looked pretty sheepish by the race's end! The temperature wasn't the only challenge tonight - the wind was quite difficult on the way back! There was, however, a good advantage given by the low air pressure of barely 100 kPa. Anyway, 8 of the 47 who had ridden an earlier 2011 OTT 15km TT improved upon their previous season series best. By the way, this was NOT the hottest time trial in my database - that record goes to the 2006-Aug-01 WTT event. That night was 36°C with a humidex of 46°C with very strong winds. I remember leaving my wo rk and feeling like I was cycling into a very hot blow drier!

(Lest complaints about me just lazily sucking in the results surface, I wish to make it perfectly clear that I would gladly do the data entry, getting the results up within a few of hours of the event, as history shows that I did for the WTT series for the decade beginning in 1998, and for the OTT series from 1999-2002 and again in 2006. The OBC Board however, not only won't let me volunteer here, but strangely enough they actually expelled me from the OBC for donating this time trial web site to you !)
