Conditions were much better than predicted or expected with no thunderstorms or rain materializing. Thirty-three individual riders and one tandem pair rode the event with twelve out of twenty-sever men breaking the hour mark and four out of the six women and the tandem team coming in under 70 minutes. First place Ron Amos (55:15) and third place Rick Sudac (55:51) were both slower than on their first attempt on this course while Philippe Bergeron (55:42) set a 40km PB on this his first try on the course. The fastest three women, Carol Deavy (1:04:29 PB), Alison Ingham (1:07:42) and Lisa Meyer (1:07:44), were all new to this course, and in fact this is the first 40km we have databased for Lisa Meyer. In all, five of the nine who rode the first Heckston 40km time trial on 2011-Jul-24, under fairly similar conditions, improved their previous time and thirteen improved upon or matched their previous 40km database best. The five men who improved their previous database best the most all had the excuse that they had never cycled this easier 40km course before. Congratulations to the most improved women, Debra Langevin who improved her cube speed by more than 12.62%. She rode the 2011-Jul-24 40km time trial on this course in 1:22:48 (28.986km/h), but today broke the 30km/h mark with 1:19:35 (30.157km/h). Another interesting set of statistics on the data is to see how people's best 15km and best 40km results for 2011 compare on the current OBC courses. You may click here to see such a graph.

(Lest complaints about me just lazily sucking in the results surface, I wish to make it perfectly clear that I would gladly do the data entry, getting the results up within a few of hours of the event, as history shows that I did for the WTT series for the decade beginning in 1998, and for the OTT series from 1999-2002 and again in 2006. The OBC Board however, not only won't let me volunteer here, but strangely enough they actually expelled me from the OBC for donating this time trial web site to you !)
