The lowest air pressure of any of this year's WTT events might have drawn out the most serious competitors in search of record times, and it was supposed to be 27°C and Sunny, which would have helped in that quest, but mother nature decided to cool things off to 18°C and blow in some rain with northeasterly winds. Oh well, it takes more than that to dampen our spirits, so the race went on with ten of us riding. One wouldn't envisage the conditions as conducive for good performances with our bikes and cold, wet muscles covered with non-aerodynamic dirt, but there are always people who thrive and surprise when the going gets tough! Three riders, Laura Johnson, Isabelle Deschamps and Christina Czaban, improved upon their previous 2011 WTT 15km best, with Laura's improvement in her cube speed being more than 15%. In fact Isabelle Deschamps, Melissa Bunn and Laura Johnson improved upon their 15km database bests! Melissa Bunn (21:30) was the fastest of the night in this her first WTT appearance. Ellen Pazdzior (23:32) was second at 28 seconds slower than her season-series best, and Veronique Boily (24:30) was third at 25 seconds slower than her best. Congratulations to all who rode and thanks to all who abetted our fun. The lizard is hoping for 40°C next week!

Note that 27 women now qualify for the WTT awards which require women to ride at least five WTT events, four of which must be 15km time trials. There are just 2 more time trials which count for these awards, and then there is the Invitational.

(Lest complaints about me just lazily sucking in the results surface, I wish to make it perfectly clear that I would gladly do the data entry, getting the results up within a few of hours of the event, as history shows that I did for the WTT series for the decade beginning in 1998, and for the OTT series from 1999-2002 and again in 2006. The OBC Board however, not only won't let me volunteer here, but strangely enough they actually expelled me from the OBC for donating this time trial web site to you !)
