This site, now in its 27th season, is a labour of love and fun from one of Ottawa's most avid time trialists and number crunchers. It adheres to and is permitted by the laws of Canada, promotes the objectives of every bicycle club whose results are shown, and is donated free of charge by myself for your enjoyment and usage. If you would like results from series you ride in to be shown here, give me (celia.mcinnis@gmail.com) a shout!
NOTE that this site had to be quickly moved to a new server with a new version of Perl. Unfortunately the way of interacting with the web form has changed, so I'll have to do some reprogramming to get the buttons and search boxes working. Meanwhile the links work fine and you can always add query specifications into the URL! :-)

OBC Open TT Series - 2012-Jun-21 - 15km (Rockliffe Pkwy) (EvtFactor= 0.899)

Ottawa Weather (18:00): Mainly Sunny. Temperature: 33°C, Humidity: 40%, Dew point: 18&de;C, Wind: SW 26 gust 39km/h, Pressure: 100.5kPa, Vis: 10km, Humidex: 39.
Ottawa Weather (19:00): Mainly Sunny. Temperature: 31°C, Humidity: 51%, Dew point: 20&de;C, Wind: SSW 23 gust 35km/h, Pressure: 100.5kPa, Vis: 10km, Humidex: 39.
Ottawa Weather (20:00): Partly Cloudy. Temperature: 29°C, Humidity: 57%, Dew point: 20&de;C, Wind: SSW 18km/h, Pressure: 100.5kPa, Vis: 10km, Humidex: 37.

A hot (33°C) humid, (humidex 39°C) night with significant south winds scared away about half of the usual crowd, but the low air pressure drew the other half out for some good times. The hilight of the night was 2nd place Rick Sudac's 19:58 (45.075km/h). Rick is 63 years old, and his time tonight was an all time category best for the Veteran D category! Note that Rick currently owns the fastest 39 times in this category. Rick has aged better than anyone else out there, as is shown by his ranking via all of the age handicap methods currently implemented on this site: the OBC 2000-2001 method, the OBC 2002 Age Handicap Method, the OBC 2003 Age Handicap Method and by the "VTTA+" rankings. His time tonight was actually only one second slower than his all time best of 19:57 which was achieved 8 years ago at age 55 on 2004-Jul-29. First place Craig Hawkes (19:45) also had his best ride of the season, 27 seconds faster than last week. Third place Antoine Richer (20:11) had a database PB of by twelve seconds. Concerning the women, there were only 6 of us and 3 of us had bad luck - Ingrid Coney (third with 25:25) missed her start by 15 seconds, Laura Johnson had to brake hard to avoid hitting a squirrel, and Celia McInnis put her foot down for what seemed an interminable amount of time for the longest stream of cars she has ever seen at the turnaround in any of the 754 time trials she has finished thus far! First place Alyssa Mellon (22:54) and second place Sharolyn Higgs with a personal database best of 24:19 rode great times. Anyway, overall, fifteen improved upon their previous season-series best, and seven bettered their previous database best.

These results were posted on the OBC site circa 22:15 on 2012-Jun-21 and are available here for your added pleasure and analysis.

(Lest complaints about me just lazily sucking in the results surface, I wish to make it perfectly clear that I would gladly do the data entry, getting the results up within a few of hours of the event, as history shows that I did for the WTT series for the decade beginning in 1998, and for the OTT series from 1999-2002 and again in 2006. The OBC Board however, not only won't let me volunteer here, but strangely enough they actually expelled me from the OBC for donating this time trial web site to you !)
