The air was pretty thick tonight with high air pressure, but regardless of this impediment, 39 of the 77 who had ridden an earlier OTT time trial in 2012 improved upon their previous season-series best and 23 out of 89 entrants bettered their previous 15km database best! Bailin Xie (22:54) reset the Cadet Female category best 15km by taking an other two seconds of her time last week and finishing second amongst the women. Senior woman Nina Nesdoly (22:46) was the fastest woman with her cube speed improvement of about 9% over her previous 15km database best of 23:11 set last year as a Junior. Veteran B Carol Deavy (23:42) narrowly edged out Robyn Angeles (23:43), Kelly McKean (23:49) and Lisa Meyer (23:54) for third. Congratulations also to Nia Byway! Her PeeWee (10-12 years old) time of 27:00 is the best since Julie Peltz's rides in the OPWF category in 1993. There was one major surprise in the first posting of the men's results men's race - Not Aaron Fillion finishing first with 18:19, but rather Matthew Surch's initial second place ranking with an incredible 18:34 on a fixed gear bike. This would be a minute and 48 seconds faster than his previous best from last July 14 which would have been a huge 31.99% improvement. Not surprisingly, this turned out to be a data entry error. His real time was 20:34, which is now fixed here and which will eventually be fixed on the OBC site. Second place really was Douglas van den Ham with his 19:06 and third place was Logan Cornell with 19:47, a 2.81% improvement over his previous best of 19:58 from last week.

(Lest complaints about me just lazily sucking in the results surface, I wish to make it perfectly clear that I would gladly do the data entry, getting the results up within a few of hours of the event, as history shows that I did for the WTT series for the decade beginning in 1998, and for the OTT series from 1999-2002 and again in 2006. The OBC Board however, not only won't let me volunteer here, but strangely enough they actually expelled me from the OBC for donating this time trial web site to you !)
