He did it!!! Aaron Fillion broke the 50km/h barrier for the first time tonight with his incredible time of 17:52 for 50.373km/h! This is a new 15km course record, eclipsing his previous course record of 18:04 which was set on 2011-Aug-25 under very windy conditions. If you're curious to see how you compare to Aaron, you can select the last mode of comparison in the "PerfRatio to" list, namely "B Spd Shown" and then hit one of the buttons, say the "PerfRatio to" button. This will compute the cube speed ratios of all participants relative to the best result shown, namely Aaron's, giving you some idea of what proportion of Aaron's power you were riding at. For instance, my number is .3360, which means that Aaron is putting out about three times the amount of power that I am! Well, maybe not quite, since he is so incredibly aerodynamic in his riding position! The great thing about time trials is that it doesn't matter how fast or slow you are - It's a race of you against the clock, and every rider looks for the same sort of personal success of improving. As well, participants are ordered from slowest to fastest and started out at half minute or minute intervals, so riders have the extra incentives of trying to catch the slower people in front and of trying to keep ahead of the faster people behind. BTW, I managed to "beat" Aaron today due to my 36 minute head start - Lots of fun!
Also Bailin Xie set an all-time best for the Cadet Female category with her 22:56 - This is 20 seconds faster than the previous mark which was set by Audrey Bernard on 2008-Aug-07. You will note that both of the former course and CAF records were in August wherea s we are currently only in early June! Riders tend to get faster as the season progresses, so we won't be surprised to see further records from Aaron and Bai lin this year! Congratulations to both.

(Lest complaints about me just lazily sucking in the results surface, I wish to make it perfectly clear that I would gladly do the data entry, getting the results up within a few of hours of the event, as history shows that I did for the WTT series for the decade beginning in 1998, and for the OTT series from 1999-2002 and again in 2006. The OBC Board however, not only won't let me volunteer here, but strangely enough they actually expelled me from the OBC for donating this time trial web site to you
